More Than 1.6 Million People Register for Michael’s Memorial

The memorial service for the global music legend will be held this Tuesday, July 7, at 10:00 AM Los Angeles time (21:30 Tehran time, 16 Tir) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The organizers will provide 11,000 free tickets to fans so they can attend the ceremony. But the number of applicants for these tickets is, as expected, much higher. More than 1.6 million people have registered to gather and pay tribute to this unforgettable legend, and from among that number, 11,000 of them will be given free tickets by lottery. Los Angeles police are preparing for a massive crowd of fans, and it has been said that a population of about one million people—who will not have been able to get tickets—will likely gather around the Staples Center. Officials have asked people that if they are unable to obtain tickets, they should stay at home and watch the ceremony live on television. The ceremony will not be broadcast on large TVs outside the Staples Center, and there will be no funeral service in the city. Staples Center officials said that there will be no decorations or show elements at this event. It has also been reported that many people who knew Michael up close will be present. CNN is expected to broadcast the ceremony live on television. The ceremony will also be viewable live on the network’s website at www.cnn.com. Source: eMJey / AP
