Michael’s Children Were More Important to Him Than Anything in the World

This 11-year-old girl not only displayed the same power and bravery of Michael Jackson that I had witnessed many times, but she also opened a window into the human side of one of the greatest showmen in history. Nothing mattered to Michael more than his children in this world. I had the privilege of working with him for more than 25 years and seeing his generosity, thoughtfulness, and dignity. I remember that in 1983 in California, I saw him along with two other people who had won the Daily Mirror contest. The prize was meeting Michael. He once invited us to stop by again at the Jackson family home a few days later. He couldn’t have been more hospitable. In 1992, something happened that upset my daughter, and Michael presented her with a song on stage. Even while performing, he was thinking about others. I’ve lost count of the happy memories I have with him, but my heart is with Prince, Paris, and Blanket—the children who have lost their father.
