A new Michael statue unveiled in London

This morning, a new Michael Jackson statue was unveiled at the Madame Tussauds museum in London. This wax figure, which was originally intended to be displayed to visitors at the start of Michael’s concert series in London (This Is It), is now being shown in the museum to commemorate him. The statue is inspired by the This Is It tour poster.

Liz Edwards, one of the officials of this museum, said in a statement on the museum’s official website: "As the flood of reactions to the news of his death showed us, Michael Jackson is one of the most powerful forces in music and popular culture. Throughout his professional career, he has been one of the most beloved figures at the Madame Tussauds museum. We had a very special relationship with Michael Jackson, and this is the 13th statue we have made of him—something that reflects his high level of popularity. We wanted this new statue to be unveiled amid his return to the stage, which everyone was expecting. And now that he is gone, we hope this statue will be a tribute to one of the most creative and influential artists the world has ever seen." Source: eMJey / madametussauds.com
