The King of Stage’s final photos

These are Michael Jackson’s last photos during the final two days of rehearsal at the Staples Center—Tuesday and Wednesday nights, June 23 and 24, 2009, two days before his death. 100 hours of Michael’s stage rehearsals have been recorded and may one day be released. Michael was preparing himself to perform 50 concerts in London. Kevin Mazur, the photographer who captured these moments, says: "I’m devastated by the sudden death of the King of Pop—the man I’ve photographed many times since the Victory Tour in the early 1980s. When he came to rehearse on stage, my body shook with the sight of Michael Jackson returning to the stage with magic. Like the first time I saw his moonwalk, adrenaline ran through my veins.
