Michael doesn’t have skin cancer
The English tabloid The Sun, known for spreading rumors, wrote in its daily news that Michael Jackson had developed skin cancer. Following that, Michael’s spokesperson, Dr. Teme, as well as Randy Phillips, CEO of the company organizing Michael’s concerts in London, AEG Live, denied the rumor.
In a statement, Michael’s spokesperson said: “These rumors are not true. Michael Jackson is in perfect health. He is fantastic. He is completely healthy. He has no illness or problem.”
Phillips: “He is in the best of health and has no discomfort or physical problem.” Phillips says that after hearing the rumor, he immediately called Michael to ask for the truth. But the King of Pop ultimately responded with calm indifference and started laughing at the rumor.
“He is used to such rumors. Since the age of 5, he has dealt with fame. He doesn’t read newspapers and doesn’t watch TV news.”
Phillips also spoke about the newspaper uproar over Michael’s frequent visits to a skin clinic in Beverly Hills, saying: “Michael has a close friendship with his dermatologist. That’s all there is to it.”
Before signing his contract with AEG to perform concerts in London, Michael successfully completed a very strict sports medical test. Phillips says that before the concerts begin, Michael must take another test as well.
Phillips also addressed the rumor about the Jackson family’s concerts, saying Michael never had a plan to perform with members of his family, but added:
“Never say never. But right now he is focusing on his concerts, not family performances. He practices every day with his choreographers and dancers.”
He continued with a laugh: “At 50, he’s better than I was when I was 30.”
Phillips then used his time to deal with other rumors.
“He has no decision to include his children in the concerts. And no Fifi will appear on stage. No Fifi. And he doesn’t have cancer either.”
Phillips again confirmed that the London concerts are the first stage of a multi-stage package proposed for Michael to continue working with AEG. Phillips reported that they have plans to record music, film, a three-dimensional film of the live performance at the concerts, and a three-dimensional film based on Michael Jackson’s 1983 Thriller video.
Without naming any specific country, Phillips said Michael’s tour will likely begin in Europe, then move to Asia, and afterward to North America and South America.
