A reply by the American Chronicle writer in defense of Michael

Terry L. Mitchell, a writer for American Chronicle, published a response on the American Chronicle website titled “CNN’s hunting dog should leave Michael alone,” in reply to the recent attack by Jane Velez-Mitchell, an employee of CNN, on Michael.

Jane Velez-Mitchell has recently dug up old controversies and attacked Michael Jackson for standing on the roof of his car on the first day of the 2004 court case.

In response to her remarks, Terry L. Mitchell wrote:

“Why is Velez-Mitchell, a supporter of copyright law victims and CNN’s hunting dog with its own dedicated news program on this network, having a problem with this? Hasn’t it been long enough already to stop meddling in these controversies?

Moreover, the only victim I saw in that courtroom was Jackson himself, who spent a large portion of his wealth defending himself. Personally, I encouraged him. The ‘show’ he created was, in reality, a middle finger to the so-called criminal justice system that brought those fake accusations against him.

Of course, he was acquitted by the jury, which found him completely not guilty on all charges.

Please tell me: what should we expect from someone in such a situation? Should we expect him to respect his own court and go to war against their accusations with humility? And then expect his response to the people who accused him to be what? If I were falsely accused, I would do exactly what Jackson did. For example, instead of showing any respect, I would tell everyone what I think about their little chaotic mock court.

Long live Michael Jackson! He is a rare and brave man—and for me, he is a hero!”
