Ingram Watching Michael While Recording

James Ingram is the songwriter of the very popular P.Y.T song from the Thriller album. He appeared on the Tavis Smiley TV show and shared an interesting memory about Michael. But before that, he mentioned his expensive shoes and said he couldn’t afford to buy them, and Tavis said they were gifts from Michael Jackson. Ingram, who was standing and dancing in imitation of Michael while singing P.Y.T in the studio, said that after Michael’s amazing performance of the song, he came out of the recording room and simply asked him if he had sung the song correctly. “I said, ‘Did you sing it right?! You blew it up! How did you know how to sing it like that?’” But Michael didn’t seem to understand what he was saying. Ingram also said that throughout his life, he had never seen anyone record a song in the studio in such a dance-like way. Michael didn’t just sing the song in the studio—he performed it!
