An Auction Will Be Held

Yesterday, Los Angeles Superior Court judge Bert Kline allowed Julien’s Auction House to carry out the scheduled auction of Michael Jackson’s assets at Neverland. Michael’s attorney in this court case said that his company spent $2 million to arrange this auction, and that if the auction is stopped, it may go bankrupt. A while back, MJJ Productions filed a lawsuit against Julien’s Auction House and claimed that Julien’s Auction House is not allowed to put some of Michael Jackson’s assets up for auction. Allen Gattman, the lawyer for this company, said in court that the auction contract for these assets was signed by Dr. Teme, who is the spokesperson and apparently the manager of Michael’s team, and that under California state laws it is not enforceable. Gattman said that on April 15, another hearing will be held and a different judge will preside. He said that yesterday’s court ruling will not affect the decision that the next court will make. Under the current court order, the auction of Michael’s assets will be held from April 22 to April 25. Julien said: “The reason Michael chose us for the auction was that he wanted a first-class auction. He worked with us for 8 months.” Michael’s father, who was seated among the crowd in this court session, smiled after the judge announced the ruling and left the courtroom.
