American Idol and a Rise in Michael’s Album Sales

As expected, starting yesterday, after the American Idol show aired on TV and contestants competed with their best performances of Michael’s songs, the number of Michael’s album sales increased—and is expected to rise even further. Yesterday’s program was entirely dedicated to Michael Jackson’s songs, and 13 contestants each performed one of his songs.

On Amazon, various Michael Jackson albums are listed among the best-sellers. Only 5 hours after American Idol aired on TV, sales of The Essential Michael Jackson increased by 2.377%, and on the site’s sales list it rose from rank 8001 to 323. Thriller 25th, with a 411% increase in sales, is at rank 171. Number Ones sales rose by 384%, and Off the Wall rose by 260%. Both of these albums are now among Amazon’s top 25 best-selling albums. Of course, it’s worth noting that this site’s statistics are updated daily.

Sales figures for Michael’s albums on iTunes are also rising. The Essential Michael Jackson album, with special sales, is prominently displayed at the top of the site’s main page. Other Michael albums are also climbing the site’s sales charts.
