28 platinum certifications for Thriller
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) reports that Michael Jackson’s album “Thriller” has received platinum certification 28 times so far for its very high sales. What’s more interesting is that all 28 certifications only account for sales of this album in the United States.
Released in 1982, the album has been issued in various versions. The newest one is Thriller 25, which was released to mark the 25th anniversary of the album. But despite the existence of different versions, the shelves of music stores are still full and emptying of the original Thriller album—confirming that this album truly is the biggest album of the era.
