The Jackson Five return to their hometown

The Jackson Brothers (Jackie, Jermaine, Tito, Marlon and Randy), with the exception of Michael, are returning to Gary, Indiana in the United States to make a documentary about the Jackson family. A spokesperson for the mayor of Gary said that a week earlier, the A&E television network had contacted the mayor’s office for this purpose. According to the spokesperson, the network is looking for locations in this city to film the Jackson family. The start date of filming has not yet been determined. Tito Jackson, Michael’s older brother and a member of the Jackson Five and the Jacksons, had earlier—last Friday—in a live interview with Vocalo, a radio network in Chicago, announced that he would be making a documentary about the Jackson family. In that interview, he said: “I’m happy to let you know that in a few weeks, we brothers will be returning to our hometown. We’ll be there.” Tito said that the documentary will focus on the 40th anniversary of the Jackson Five single I Want You Back and the 50th anniversary of the Motown company’s founding. He also said that the documentary will be made based on the realities and roots of the Jackson brothers, and how the group came to fruition. Tito added, while announcing that Michael would not be among them: “But the rest of the family members are in this documentary. We plan to produce a television special, and for filming we will use different locations, including a high school and the neighboring houses. It’s still too early to talk about the exact plan.
