Michael Jackson exhibition: HIStyle at the Grammy Museum

On February 7, the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles unveiled Michael Jackson’s memorabilia. This unique and unparalleled exhibition in its own kind showcases a selection of luxurious outfits that highlight the distinctive, one-of-a-kind style of Michael Jackson. The exhibition, which is on the third floor of the museum, offers visitors an unprecedented few days to get up close with one of the music legends. Ken Luftig Viste, the museum’s president, says: “The Grammy Museum is thrilled by this rare opportunity to present such items to its visitors. Michael Jackson is undeniably one of the most important showmen in the history of pop music. The clothing designs are impressive and eye-catching, and only a small number of them have been seen by the public so far.” The collection includes eight expertly decorated jackets, two gloves and other items, and their display will continue in the museum until mid-April 2009. Among the standout items of the exhibition are the jacket Michael wore on the Victory tour and at the 1984 American Music Awards, as well as the jacket he wore when receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. All these jackets are adorned with jewels, decorative beads and other details. The weight of one of these pieces reaches 15 pounds.
