Michael’s shopping on New Year’s Eve
On New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2008, Michael went to a bookstore in Santa Monica. Before going inside the store, he chatted with fans from inside his car. He received gifts from them and signed autographs.
While he was waving to fans from the window of his car, signing their papers, and taking their gifts, Michael said:
"(For the gifts) Thank you. I’m happy to have met you. I love you. I love you." And as he raised the window glass, he said, "Take care of your hands. Have a great New Year’s Eve. Goodbye. I love you."
Michael wore a hat, reading glasses, and one of his famous masks. He spent some time browsing inside the bookstore, and meanwhile the guards surrounding him kept his umbrella out of the view of paparazzi photographers and reporters.
Since his return to America over the past two years, Michael has been seen in bookstores many times in the states of Nevada and California.
