Ne-Yo Talks About Working With Michael

Ne-Yo, the Black singer, in an interview with Digital Spy, answered a number of questions about his collaboration with the King of Pop.

Q: You’ve recently been busy working with Michael Jackson—an legendary gentleman. Has he asked your opinion about your new songs?

A: No, he hasn’t. But honestly, it’s a really good idea. Maybe I should actually do that.

Q: Do you have his mobile number?

A: Yes, I do. I know how to get it. Yeah, maybe I’ll call him tomorrow.

Q: What do you do if he tells you, “I don’t think this is a good song”?

A: You know, he’s never told me he doesn’t like something—and he hasn’t told me why. I’ve worked on a few songs for his new album, and if he doesn’t like a song, he explains to me why it isn’t his taste. For example, he’ll say, “I think the melody could be better,” or “I think the lyrics could be stronger.”

Q: How is his new album going?

A: Actually, I haven’t had the chance to work with him in the studio yet. So far, our collaboration has only been through phone calls, emails, and exchanging mp3 files. And I really can’t say anything about it.
