Possibility of Summoning Jodie Chandler to Testify in Court

According to News Press reports, the judicial authorities of the state of Santa Barbara have contacted Jodie Chandler, Michael Jackson’s former accuser, to appear at Michael’s next court session on January 31, 2005. Jodie Chandler, who is now 24 years old, said she would appear in court only if her testimony is necessary to convict Michael. Chandler’s father, in 1993, accused Michael Jackson of sexually abusing his son, but Jodie refused to testify in court. The case ended with an out-of-court settlement that same year. It’s not surprising that the Santa Barbara prosecutors’ team is trying to link these two criminal matters separated by more than a decade. The decision about whether Chandler will appear in Michael Jackson’s next court hearing is up to Judge Melville. Michael’s defense attorneys have recently received documents that were obtained in 1993, at their own request. The defense team has repeatedly stated that Michael is being extorted by the accuser’s mother, and that the accuser’s mother raised these allegations only in order to obtain money. Source: News Press
