Michael’s Comments About Eminem’s Video

At 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, Michael Jackson appeared on the Steve Harvey radio show broadcast on Radio One to talk about Eminem’s new video. In this exclusive interview with Steve Harvey, Michael said: "Steve, I want to thank you, Radio One, the African-American community in America, my fans around the world, and some media activists for your support of me. I also want to thank Mr. Robert Johnson, the founder and president of BET, for taking Eminem’s video out of the programs that were supposed to air on that network. I truly appreciate the love and support you have shown me. I am very angry about being portrayed in Eminem’s new video. I think it is disrespectful and insulting. On the one hand, this (video) is a copied parody of a comic, and on the other hand it is demeaning and insignificant toward other people’s feelings. I have always admired Eminem as an artist, and I was shocked by this video. This video was inappropriate and offensive to me, my children, my family, and, in general, to the community.
