12:20 a.m. - A spokesperson for the Santa Barbara sheriff’s office announced that legal investigators, during the course of a lawful investigation, searched Michael Jackson’s private residence. The purpose of this operation has not yet been disclosed, but the television network Court TV reported that a 12-year-old boy has come forward with fresh allegations against the King of Pop. Jackson is currently not at home. He had been out yesterday filming a new music video. Captain Chris Pappas said that more than 20 investigators from the Santa Barbara sheriff’s office and legal officers are carrying out an operation that has been described as “criminal investigations.” The district attorney’s office has made no comment on the matter so far. Stuart Backerman, Michael’s spokesperson, in his only statement on the matter to the Associated Press, said that Michael and his three children were not at their private residence at the time these raids took place. Pellicano, 59, is being questioned about these issues. He is reportedly suspected of secretly recording the statements of celebrities with their lawyers. During the rumors about Michael in 1993, he worked as a spokesperson and security adviser for Jackson. These interrogations and search operations occurred on the same day that the page-publishing company Epic released Michael’s new album, a collection of Michael’s best songs along with his new track One More Chance. It is also scheduled that on December 5 (one week from now), the U.S. national network CBS will air a special program featuring more of Michael’s older recordings—and, of course, including a performance of the song One More Chance .
