Michael’s official spokesperson has provided new information to Michael fan sites. While this news will be shared with the global media a little later, he and Michael want their fans to hear it first. Michael also wants to thank all of his devoted fans for their tremendous efforts—including signing petitions about What More Can I Give —which finally paid off—because this song is finally being released. In one of the special moments at this year’s Radio Music Awards in Las Vegas, the music video for What More Can I Give will be officially aired for the first time in the United States. This video, which includes behind-the-scenes footage from the production process of the song, features some of the biggest names in the music world, including Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake and the group 'N Sync, Beyonce, Shakira, Luther Vandross, Tom Petty, Ricky Martin and Carlos Santana are mentioned. During the RMA ceremony, produced by Clear Channel Communications and NBC, the first honorary humanitarian award What More Can I Give (What else can I give?) will be presented to him for his charitable efforts throughout his lifetime and for recognizing his dedication to promoting peace through music. At the beginning of a series of activities related to this project, Michael delivers speeches about the goals behind this song.
In a creative project by an artist whose list of works is as modern as the history of pop music, What More Can I Give will be officially available starting today for download via the site Music for Giving in exchange for a $2 payment, for users around the world. This site was founded by two mothers named Val Whalin and Patricia Brugger. Their goal, which continues even now that their children have grown up, is to keep creating change in children’s lives. All the money raised through this initiative will be donated to these charities:
· Oneness : a non-profit organization whose mission is to eliminate racism and promote racial unity through music, art, and education.
· Literacy, Education and Training Program Hollywood : to help young people enter life, provide them with the right tools for their success, and give them the opportunity to reach their goals; to strengthen people’s situation, morale, and the public image of Americans through impactful volunteer work.
· Music charity of Mr. Holland : by donating and repairing musical instruments for the schools under its coverage, and by providing financial support for music programs and students across the country, it helps improve the quality of music education.
· International Child Art charity: prepares children for a creative future. The organization’s effort is to use art as a language-independent medium to communicate with children around the world. This group believes that art is an effective organizer on the path to peace, and therefore, by drawing patterns on the creativity and natural initiative of the younger generation, it tries to turn hostility into friendship.
Also, Clear Channel Communications will send this song to its radio stations around the world to support this initiative. In addition, the video for this song will be made available to MJ News Int. for release in Europe, to be used in the Music & Me Tribute show scheduled for November 25 at the Aldwych hall.
Stuart Backerman says, “Michael has told me many times that all of this is because of the support of his fans. Fans have made tremendous efforts to release this song, and Michael, along with all the artists involved in this project, wants to thank these fans for their continued support of What More Can I Give. Until now, this song was a hidden gem, but now it’s available to everyone through Clear Channel.” It’s not a bad idea to know that an official site has been opened to support this project: whatmorecanigive.com
