The site MSN Entertainment reported Michael’s remarks to his fans at the Los Angeles celebration last week as follows:

(What an incredible performance...) Don’t you think so? I want to thank my very good fans for this wonderful event. I can’t believe you’ve made such a huge effort for this unbelievable celebration... and from thirty countries, am I right? Thirty countries? Yes—more than thirty countries came to be here for this celebration. I want to say that I’m very embarrassed and at the same time deeply moved and touched by your love. I want you to know that I am grateful to my fans not only for events like this, but for all the days of my life. It is your presence—your faith and loyalty—that gives me tremendous strength in difficult times. You have inspired me to work hard and to pass that on. I owe you everything.

Over the years, we have become one family, all of us. You are my family. In all the countries I’ve traveled to, people were so kind and wonderful to me. My children are your children and all the children in the world are our children, and we are responsible for them. It’s time for people to think about the child that has always lived inside them—and, more importantly, to be adults who constantly add to their wisdom, but never forget their childlike innocence.

Most of the things you will see from me in the near future will be a celebration of the lively imagination of youth that has always been part of me. But at the same time, there is also the mature perspective of a father, an artist, and a member of our community.

My birthday wish is that you, my fans, join me in a new project and that together we move toward a bright future.

I feel so young that I look to the future with great optimism. I have hired a new team of kind, loyal, and capable people with completely different backgrounds. They work with excellent coordination and with the spirit of a real team, and they have you, the fans, at the top of their list. Give them some time to show you these things: a new official website, a number of official products for sale, a clothing line MJ for all age groups, a fan communication center, and maybe a surprising something! We promise you that we will make Neverland more accessible to our fans and that we will keep in closer contact with each other. Also, we need your opinions and criticisms.

Whenever injustice has been done to me, you have always been by my side, and I will always love you for this.

A few hours ago, I came here from the recording studio. I’m working on new music... and you’ll also see some music videos and a feature film... The only thing I can promise you is that I will do something that will make all of you proud to be Michael Jackson fans.

Before I say goodbye to you, I want to talk to my fans about a new charitable project that is very close to my heart. The goal of this project is to help young people—some kind of counseling. Today’s world has many problems. Solving many of them is difficult. For this, we need money, human power, experience, equipment, and things like that—but above all, we need people whose goal is to eliminate them, people who won’t step aside until this work bears fruit. I believe in the young generation—those who are much younger than 45 years old!—so that I can show them those problems and help them find solutions. Solutions that no one has thought of before. That’s why I want to push all young people to "Go For Your Dreams." If they do this, many problems will be solved. With the help of several very experienced people, we will establish a charitable foundation before the end of the year. Although for now I can’t tell you more information about it, I can tell you its name: Go For Your Dreams (Go for your dreams). You are the first people I’m telling this to, because I hope you will join me and turn this into a worldwide success. It would be a great honor for me if you, my fans, were Go For Your Dreams ambassadors all around the world. But for now, I hope you all enjoy this celebration and have a great time.
