Shahrivar 17, 1382 – Agreement Between the Producers of Living with MJ and Michael?

According to reports from several media outlets, including the British newspaper The Guardian, Granada intends to reach an out-of-court settlement regarding the controversial documentary program Living with Michael Jackson made by Martin Bashir. The newspaper reports that the television network company ITV plans to give some money to a charity chosen by the Pop Sultan in order to prevent a heavy lawsuit against this film, which was broadcast this year.

As we reported earlier, Michael began legal action against this program last February because it destroyed his trust. One of the reasons for his complaint was Bashir’s failure to heed Michael’s request not to show pictures of his children. Michael’s lawyers also claim that Granada (the production company of this program) had reached an agreement with this music star that Michael would own all the recorded images—including behind-the-scenes footage—during the making of the program, whereas this did not happen.

One member of Granada told Guardian: "We are talking about an agreement and a payment to a charity, but we stand with Martin, his program, and its producers. We do not make any apology and we do not pay any damages or penalties. We have not yet received any official statement from Michael’s side."
