Tommy Mottola , the former head of Sony Music who resigned from his job last winter, has started a new collaboration with Universal Music Group . Mottola , who has worked with Sony on successful stars such as Mariah Carey (Mottola’s former wife), Celine Dion and Jennifer Lopez , was heavily criticized by Michael due to his viewpoints. Michael, who knew that the commercial failure of his latest album, Invincible , was the result of Tommy ’s biased behavior toward him and Sony ’s minimal promotion of this album, had expressed regret about the severe protests he made against him. He had said that although Sony Music was one of the biggest factors in his success, it was Michael himself. He called his approach completely material and labeled him a devilish person. Mottola , after signing his deal with Universal (reportedly worth about 50 million dollars), said that he intends to bring at least two projects to the market before the month of Shahrivar, and added that he has signed several contracts that will be announced in the coming weeks, and that with his help, 6 albums could be released in one year.
