Session of Another Court Hearing

Michael returned to court on Tuesday. He was walking with the help of a cane, without one shoe. When he stopped to sign autographs for his fans, he seemed upset by reporters’ questions about the balcony incident at the Berlin hotel. Michael’s only response to them was: "He’s my kid. I love my kids."

When explaining about one shoe and his cane, he said his foot had been bitten by a spider. One person in the crowd asked whether the spider had come from his pets, and Michael laughed and answered no.

Michael asked the photographers not to take pictures of his foot and held his hand in front of a photographer’s lens. The photographer assured him he wouldn’t take a picture of his foot. Michael asked, "Do you promise? Do you promise?"

Michael appeared in court in good spirits. According to an Associated Press report from inside the courtroom, he had a smile on his face and, during breaks in the proceedings, waved at the photographers and made faces—too!



During the hearing, Michael was shown a calendar and it was claimed that, according to it, he had been in New York on the seventh and eighth of August, when Michael’s management team told Marcel Avram that the concerts had been canceled. Michael said the writing on the calendar was not clear to him. When they showed him the flight schedule, which he acknowledged indicated that he had flown from New York to Los Angeles on August 11, Michael pointed out that this proves nothing. "I’m always flying around the world!"

The court session continued with several long interruptions. These breaks were due to disputes between the parties over the approval of a set of documents regarding the relationship of the attorneys for both sides in 1999, and evidence that had not been presented earlier. The day was supposed to be the last day of Michael’s cross-examination, but apparently, because of the long interruptions, Michael would have to return to court later in the week as well.
