Michael Sues Marcel Avram

On Monday, October 3, Michael Jackson and the MJ company sued Marcel Avram for violating the contract made between them.

In 2002, Avram had taken Michael to court because he canceled two concerts in 1999 that Avram had arranged. Avram sought $21 million in damages from Michael. However, the court ordered Michael to pay a $5.3 million compensation.

In 2003, both parties reached agreements in this case, and it was decided that both sides would refrain from pursuing it again in the future. It was also agreed that disputes created over these agreements would be discussed and reviewed as part of the agreement in the higher court.

But according to Michael and his company, Avram broke the contract and again proceeded through the legal steps in this matter.

In this lawsuit, the court was asked to issue a preliminary order to stop Avram from doing this.

A hearing related to this will be held on October 24 this year.

Michael Bruce, Michael’s attorney, has not yet made any comments regarding this matter.
