Agreement Between Michael and Debbie Over the Children
In 2004, Debbie Rowe—Michael’s former wife and the mother of two of her three children, Prince (8) and Paris (7)—had legally requested visitation with her children.

Debbie married Michael in 1996. Three years later, after separating from him, in addition to giving up custody rights to Michael, she also relinquished all her maternal rights—even the right to visit her children.

In 2004, Debbie requested the return of her rights and visitation with Prince and Paris. According to Michael Jackson’s lawyer, agreements were reached between the two parties on this matter, satisfying both sides.
In the court proceedings regarding Michael’s charges of sexual abuse of a 13-year-old boy—which ended in his acquittal in June—Debbie described Michael as a man and an extraordinary father. In court, she admitted that she wanted to have a relationship with Michael and his children. She also called them her family.
