Joe Jackson’s Birthday Celebration in Berlin

On Friday, Joe Jackson celebrated his 79th birthday with hundreds of fans who had come to Berlin from all over the world. Many fans, just like Michael, dressed up.

Contrary to what had been announced earlier, only Jermain and Tito Jackson—Michael’s brothers—attended the celebration. Michael also did not show up, as he had announced on his website.

Jermain Jackson said about this: “He (Michael) is very tired and is resting. These accusations have thrown him off mentally. In this regard he is very strong, but right now he needs rest.”

Alexander Grew, a longtime fan who was wearing a white glove and a shiny silver jacket, told reporters: “I even shook hands with him. It felt really, truly amazing.” He added: “If he’s so tired that he can’t travel to Berlin, that’s completely natural.”

Joe Jackson, along with his children Tito and Jermain, met with the Mayor of Berlin at City Hall and signed the city’s guest book. The mayor also showed them a map of the city, and they took a souvenir photo together with a German stone bear statue.
