Tax Increase in Santa Maria After Michael’s Accusation Case Was Closed

Last month, Michael was acquitted by the jury of all ten charges he faced.

But the cost of this trial has been very expensive for the city of Santa Maria—an expense of nearly three million dollars, which will be covered by the city’s taxpayers.

Most of this money will go toward the costs of transporting and hiring additional police officers to ensure security and maintain order in the Santa Maria district courthouse area.

Controlling the crowd in the courthouse’s outdoor grounds has also left a hefty bill.

It should be noted that the prosecution’s costs, the costs of the investigation, and the expenses related to the jury have not yet been included.
