Michael: the king of radio waves again

Since Michael Jackson’s acquittal on his charges was announced on June 13, there has been a significant upward trend in the airplay of Michael’s songs on radio stations around the world.

On U.S. radio stations, the airplay of Michael’s songs has tripled compared to the time when Michael was involved in his allegations.

After Michael was acquitted of the sexual abuse charges, the Pop King’s songs were played 3,010 times on 1,528 U.S. radio stations.

Three days before the verdict was announced, the number of times Michael’s songs were played had dropped to 1,043.

The highest number of plays went to Billie Jean, Beat It, Rock With You, Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough, Thriller, Wanna Be Startin’ Somthin, Bad, P.Y.T., The Way You Make Me Feel, and Smooth Criminal.
