Jesse Jackson interview with CNN

Rev. Jesse Jackson, in a radio interview with “American Morning,” broadcast on CNN, said that Michael is suffering from a great deal of pain, but that he is steadfast and continues to stress his innocence.

He said that Michael suffers both physical pain and the mental stress caused by the court case.

Jackson added that Michael is confident that if the legal jury behaves according to the law, he will be acquitted.

Jesse Jackson said that from March until now, Michael has been suffering from back spasms, and the mental stress has also contributed to it. But, according to him, “Michael endures his pain with extraordinary strength and focus.”

Jesse Jackson said that Michael is not angry at his 15-year-old complainant, but he feels that those who testified against him betrayed him—while he had trusted them, employed them, and treated them generously.

He continued: “Michael doesn’t talk about them with bitterness and anger. He talks about police injustice.”

Jesse Jackson went on to say that Michael feels that law enforcement has been occupying his mind for 10 years.

He also criticized the police search of Michael’s home and called it a “mad invasion.”

“75 armed police officers, plus reporters and photographers, stormed Norland. They damaged the furniture and household items and works of art. They turned the house upside down.”

Jesse Jackson added: “Michael has been dealing with two trials at the same time—one in court and the other in the media.”
