Former Michael Jackson attorney summoned by the judge

In today’s court session, Judge Melville, in a ruling, ordered Mark Geragos, Michael Jackson’s former attorney, to appear in court tomorrow morning to testify. He said that if Geragos disobeyed this order, he would be arrested.

After hearing the remarks of Shepard Kopp, Geragos’s representative, who said the attorney could not attend court due to heavy workload, Judge Melville became very upset and threatened that if Mark Geragos did not appear in court, he would throw him into prison.

“Now you’ll understand what a citizen feels like when he is summoned to court.”

“I expect him to be here at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow. And if he isn’t here, I will have his arrest order carried out. In that case, he will certainly be here in court on Monday morning.”

When Kopp tried to explain that Geragos needed to appear in a court in Los Angeles, Judge Melville cut him off and said:

“This has nothing to do with the summons of a police officer, or a mechanic, or a victim. He has been summoned and must comply.”
