What’s Happening in Court Today?

Today, Michael Jackson will appear in court to begin the process of reviewing the qualifications of the people who have been summoned to form a 12-member jury, and who are expected to be involved in delivering the final verdict in his case.

Police security forces have prepared themselves to face hundreds—or even thousands—of Michael Jackson fans. Around the courthouse grounds, there is a security fence, with signs attached to it warning the fans gathered around that they should keep the atmosphere calm—so as to prevent incidents like those that occurred last year during Michael Jackson’s first appearance in court when his charges were being addressed.

News media have also gathered in the courthouse grounds. However, only a limited number of them are allowed to enter the court session.
