Statements by the Prosecutor’s Office Staff in Response to the Leaking of the Accuser’s Testimony

Sheriff Anderson and Prosecutor Tom Snedon:

Recently, there has been a significant increase in the discovery of highly confidential documents, inspection reports, and evidence related to the Michael Jackson case. These documents are kept completely confidential according to the judge’s order. We believe that releasing these documents is a violation of the law. Some commentators in the media have blamed us for the leak of the documents from the scene. We are not responsible. These irresponsible, baseless, and false accusations are not true.

We are actively pursuing this matter. In addition, if anyone has information about how these documents were released or about who released them, we ask that they contact the Santa Barbara Police Department. Everyone must provide their information in writing on forms containing their details. Responsibility for any information lies with the person who provides it.
