Mark Lester’s defense of Michael Jackson
Mark Lester, who plays Oliver Twist, will be one of the key witnesses for Michael Jackson’s defense team in court.
Lester, who said that he was present in Neverland at the time when some of Jackson’s alleged incidents are said to have occurred, said he is sure his friend will be cleared of all charges:
“ I may be subpoenaed to testify in court as a witness on behalf of the defense attorneys. I was there when the children who made the allegations were in Neverland. I witnessed things that could be useful. I’m going and I’ll offer my support.”
Michael and Mark Lester, who are fathers of four children, became close friends 26 years ago when both were 20 years old, and since then they have maintained their wonderful friendship. According to Lester, he is the godfather of two of Michael’s children, and Michael is the godfather of all four of his children.
In an interview with Sunday Mercury, Lester expresses his views about Michael Jackson like this:
“ Michael is innocent. I completely trust him with my children. He is their godfather. Why shouldn’t I do that!?”
Since the allegations were raised, Michael has stopped reading the newspaper and does not watch any television programs. He copes well with this issue. The problem is that he wants to hide from all these matters instead of coming out and talking about them. When he gives interviews, he handles these issues well. Unfortunately, he needs someone to advise him on what to do next time.
I think that once he is cleared of the allegations, he should do a few selected interviews about what happened to him. I also think he should hold another tour. I’m sure he will break the record again.
I think the allegations are completely ridiculous. I think that because of things I know, I can testify in court. I’ve seen things that could be useful.
Lester described Michael Jackson as a “lovable man.” He said that Michael is different when he’s offstage.
“He is very shy and quiet. But he still enjoys all the attention. His fame has given him many things, but it has limited his freedom.”
Regarding his children, Lester said:
“My children had an amazing time with Michael. When they get together, they have a great time. I think that in the last visit, Felix and Prince had a fight with each other. But they’ve been to Neverland several times. They love it there.”
When asked about Martin Bashir, he said:
“I met Bashir and I actually didn’t like him. I wasn’t really sure about Bashir. There was something very negative about him.”
Lester emphasizes that he and Michael Jackson keep their close relationship.
“We call each other to keep each other informed about what’s happening in our lives. He hasn’t met me in Cheltenham yet. But I’m sure he will when the trial ends. He always tells me he wants to visit there.
When asked how their friendship would change if the jury found him guilty, Lester said:
“There are many innocent people who are found guilty. This doesn’t change our friendship. Michael is innocent.”
