Martin Bashir is reluctant to testify in court
In 2003, Martin Bashir—the journalist and documentary producer of “Living with Michael Jackson”—in a motion asked Judge Melville to reject the prosecutor Tom Sneddon’s proposal to subpoena him to testify in court. He claims that under California state laws, journalists are not required to testify in court. Bashir said, “This documentary speaks for itself.” Bashir added that ABC, the television network that aired the documentary in America, can determine the truth or falsity of any part of it that is used as evidence in court.
