Michael interview with Ebony magazine

In his recent interview with Ebony magazine, the King of Pop said that he doesn’t care about negative media news about himself.

In this rare interview, Michael said that he knows he is famous for being different, but he ignores it.

“In my opinion, this is ignorance and lack of knowledge. And it’s usually not based on truth. In every place, there is someone living that others don’t see, so they gossip about them.”

He also said that since the release of his explosive album Thriller in 1982, he hasn’t changed much.

“That Michael is probably the same Michael who is here. I just wanted to do some special things at the beginning.”

“I’ve always had a strong feeling in my mind about doing things—being a father and raising my children. I really enjoy doing that.”

Despite selling more than an astonishing 750 million records worldwide, Michael says that his successes have come with sadness and suffering.

“When you’re at the top, when you’re a pioneer, people attack you. But I appreciate all my achievements and record-breaking, the best-selling albums and number one songs. I still feel grateful.”

This 49-year-old superstar adds that he does not intend to keep reading and performing even at the age of 80.

“I don’t want to follow the path of James Brown or Jackie Wilson. They destroyed themselves. I wish James Brown had slowed down his career and rested more, and enjoyed the results of his hard work.”

Ebony magazine also reports on Kanye West and Will.I.Am’s collaboration with the King of Pop, and promises that Michael’s new album will be released in 2008.
