Michael’s Lawsuit Against a Music Club

Michael Jackson and Arkle are among the artists who have filed lawsuits against the Jay-Z 40/40 Club for playing their songs without permission. The plaintiffs filed their petition in the federal court in Manhattan. The owners of the club are rapper Jay-Z and two other business partners, Desiree Gonzalez and Joan Perez, but this lawsuit does not mention Jay-Z by name—his real name is Shawn Carter. Broadcast Music, representing Michael Jackson and other artists and music publishers, has requested payment of fines from this club for violating copyright rules.
