Possible Halt to Auction of the Jackson Family’s Memorabilia

Michael Jackson may prevent the auction of 1,100 pieces of Jackson family memorabilia. Michael’s representative said he intends to stop the auction through legal means.

Raymone Ben, Michael’s spokesperson, said: “Mr. Jackson was not aware of this matter, and he was extremely upset to hear that his memorabilia is among the items being put up for auction.”

The auction is scheduled to take place on May 30 and 31 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.

Guernsey Auctions has announced that the gold record for Thriller, the handwritten lyrics to one of the most famous songs by the Jackson 5 titled “ABC,” and a cassette from the Victory Tour special program signed by members of the Jackson family are also among the memorabilia that will be auctioned.

Arlan Ettinger, founder and representative of Guernsey Auctions, compared this auction to the Elvis Presley and Graceland memorabilia auction he held in 1999. He tells the Associated Press:

“This event will definitely be history-making, news-making, and an exceptional auction.”

Ettinger said the Jackson family’s memorabilia belongs to Universal Express shipping company, which was purchased last year from the manager of a construction company in New Jersey.

As a result of bankruptcy, the Jackson family lost this collection of items in court.

A test recording of a Jackson 5 song titled “I Want You Back,” Marlon Jackson’s shiny jacket, the ultra-modern stage boots belonging to Randy Jackson in 1984, and a white hat said to belong to the BAD video from Michael Jackson’s album are among the memorabilia expected to be sold.
