Last Night’s Dinner Party in Tokyo
Michael attended last night’s dinner party, arranged for him and titled as a fan appreciation event.
The tickets for this celebration, attended by nearly 400 people, were sold for $3,500 each.
At the event, Michael’s look-alikes performed, and each participant was given the chance to take a souvenir photo with Michael during a short meeting.
More than 100 orphaned and disabled children were participating in the event for free.
Michael looked calm and relaxed. He wore sunglasses and a suit jacket and trousers designed by Roberto Cavalli. At the end of the ceremony, which lasted six hours, he appeared on stage to give thanks.
“I’ve been working in the music industry since I was six years old. As Charles Dickens says, it has been the best and worst time of my life. But I haven’t changed my profession. Even though some people tried to hurt me on purpose, I’ve always dealt with it because I have a loving family, strong faith, and wonderful friends and fans who have always supported me and continue to do so.”
Some fans who came to the event said the tickets were expensive for them. However, one fan told reporters that you can’t put a price on such a celebration.
“I love Michael Jackson, his music, his feelings, and his humanity.”
Sumi Yoshimi, one of the fans present at the event, says: “He shook hands with everyone and hugged them. He treated me very well. It was very good. But he didn’t say anything special, and at the end of the event he looked very tired.”
She continues: “Michael looked very good, and seeing him up close was worth four thousand yen (3,500 dollars).”
The event organizers said they sold more than 300 tickets. That means this celebration brought in at least one million dollars in revenue.
Aya, a 20-year-old student who couldn’t get a ticket, said about the large piece of fabric she was holding that she had been working on it with the help of a friend since November.
“Even though we couldn’t get tickets, we’d be happy if he just sees our banner. I’m excited. It’s true that because of the ticket price, I couldn’t buy one, but I don’t think it’s too expensive. The point is that I’m a student and for now I don’t have the ability to pay such an amount.”
On Friday, Michael will attend a celebration held at Camp Zama in appreciation of the fans. Michael is expected to take photos with fans, sign autographs for them, visit their artworks, and even meet the soldiers and their families.
Marta Brooks, a spokesperson for the U.S. Army, said that Michael only wants to tell them that “America supports them.” She said the same as well.
The doors to the Camp Zama gym hall will open for fans at 1:15 p.m., and Michael will be there at 3 p.m.
