Thriller Named the Third-Best Album

The Hall of Fame and (NARM) the National Association of Recording Merchandisers introduced the 200 best albums in recording music history. These two have covered albums in the “Definitive 200” list— albums that every music lover should have.

Three of Michael’s albums are on this list:

Thriller ranks 3
Off The Wall ranks 80
Dangerous ranks 115

It’s interesting to note that in the Rolling Stones 500-album list that was previously released, Michael still had three albums on it.

Thirteen of the first fifteen albums in this ranking are rock. Thriller is one of the two albums that are not categorized in this style. As it appears, this ranking shows a tendency toward rock albums.
