Hearing of Mark Shaffel’s Lawsuit Resumes
After five days of rest, the hearing of Mark Shaffel’s financial lawsuit against Michael Jackson resumes today in Santa Monica. Shaffel claims that he is owed several million dollars by Michael.
Shaffel’s attorney showed parts of a recorded video from September 2005 in court, showing Michael testifying about this case.
In this video, Michael says that he covers his expenses using income from renting land in Neverland to raise cattle:
Defense attorney: So the money needed to buy things or other items is provided by the cows?
Michael: Yeah, want to believe it or not.
Defense attorney: I don’t believe it. But it doesn’t matter. I don’t have to believe it.
Michael: (laughs) Well, I said the same thing.
