Court rejects Michael’s request
A U.S. appeals court rejected Michael’s request to remove Debbie from the lives of his children.
Debbie married Michael in 1996. Their children are a son named Prince Michael Jr. and a daughter named Paris Michael Catherine. They separated in 1999. In a court case held in 2001, Debbie waived her maternal rights and transferred all custody rights of Prince and Paris to Michael. Court documents show that the judge in that case considered Michael and Debbie’s four-year marriage as an arranged deal.
In 2003, after allegations were raised against Michael and following his hiring of several members of the Nation Of Islam as guards, Debbie sought to regain her rights. She requested temporary custody rights for Prince and Paris, who are currently living with their father in Bahrain.
Debbie considered members of the Nation Of Islam a threat and believed they were hostile to Jewish people. Debbie herself is Jewish.
The five appeals court judges overturned the decision of the judge who, in 2001, had removed Debbie from her maternal rights with her consent, calling it defective.
Michael’s lawyers and spokesperson did not comment on the matter.
