One of Michael Jackson’s Defense Team Breaks Away

Brian Oxman, the attorney for the Jackson family, has left his role on the defense team.

Thomas Mesereau announced this separation on Monday of this week without giving a reason.

Oxman had been hospitalized last month with pneumonia.

It has been reported that Mesereau’s dissatisfaction with the way Oxman handled his work led to his removal from the team.

After Monday’s session ended, outside the courtroom, a brief verbal altercation took place between Thomas Mesereau and Brian Oxman.

Last week, Oxman did not attend court, and on Monday morning Mesereau told the court that Oxman was no longer a member of the Michael Jackson defense team.

When Michael Jackson entered the courthouse grounds on Monday, Oxman was involved in a verbal dispute with one of the court officers. He then turned to Michael and asked, “Do you want me to go?”

Apparently, Michael Jackson’s response to that question was negative.

In court, instead of sitting behind the table reserved for the Michael Jackson defense team, Oxman sat next to his family.

When Oxman was asked about this split, he said, “I’m still here.”
