Illness of the Sister of the Witness Delays the Court
Starting from Monday of this week, Michael Jackson’s defense attorneys were supposed to begin a question-and-answer session with the invited individuals for jury selection in Jackson’s case. But contrary to expectations, the discussions between the defense attorneys and these people will not take place on the scheduled date.
In a statement released on Friday by the court, the reason for this delay was given as the severe illness of the sister of the lead attorney, Thomas Mesereau.
The statement says that because of the illness of Mr. Mesereau’s sister, neither he nor his client will appear in court on Monday.
Judge Melville has announced that no sessions will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday. However, whether a session will be held on Thursday has not been specified.
